Archimedes the famous Greek mathematician is known for many thanks including introducing the world to calculus. He also explained all the physical attributes of why an iceberg floats the way it does. His math was used to build great civilizations, a large seagoing vessels and build some of the world's greatest aquifers. Archimedes brought to the world the math that was needed to complete some of mankind's greatest architecture in our human history. Some say he revolutionized geometry as well.

He is known for his inventions as well including a giant tubular screw pumping device for water. Legend has it that Archimedes was so busy thinking about math that he was a little insane. He was known for sketching in the sand is ideas through geometric shapes such as pyramids, triangles, squares and circles and he would stare at them for hours contemplating his mathematics.

Today The Stanford Linear Accelerator known as SLAC, is using a special method to read the last fifteen pages of his ancient text to undercover and discover what may be his greatest findings. Perhaps we will learn just why he did not want the world to disturb his circles and diagrams drawn in the sand. Soon the world may learn Archimedes greatest secrets.
