Judging Iraq Progress on Number of US Soldier Deaths is Absurd; Lance Rants

The liberal democrats on a daily basis judge the progress in Iraq on the number of US soldiers who are killed, yet this is absurd to the over all mission. The number of deaths is not a scorecard to completion of the projects there? One gentleman asked, how many people are killed in the United States every day; does that mean our nation is losing?

Indeed, and yesterday I heard a speech from the President of the American Trucking Association who stated that every week on American Highways it is like 2-airliners crashed killing everyone on board. Hospital infections are killing 180,000 people a year in the US; 493 per day.

I respect and honor all American Soldiers or anyone in our armed forces, back them 110% and then some. But rather than death toll argument how about the fact that getting rid of Saddam now and the Iranian leadership tomorrow and completing the war on terror the next day will save our children from WW III. Damn it let's look at this long term. A free and self-governed Iraq in the middle of the Middle East, is a great thing for turning the region around and it is a positive step in the progress of mankind now and in the future. Consider all this in 2006.
