The Hurricane Hunters indeed have captured our imagination. A military squadron, which actually flies aircraft into the eye of a Category Five Hurricane now that takes guts, wow. These are some brave men and women indeed, however it is time to move from studying Hurricanes to killing them. It is wonderful all the data we have collected over the years in studying these storms which wreak havoc.

Isnt there anything we can drop from these aircraft to help in the killing of these killer storms? Well, why not? It may actually be possible. In fact several have floated a few different ideas, one is to drop a million small polymer balls, which would soak up 2000 times their weight in water. This could be done by way of C-5 Galaxy, C-17 or C-141 and you would need quite a few aircraft and hit the left side of the storms forward path.

Another thought was to coat the ocean with a film of oil, vegetable oil or a substance which could make the water not evaporate or be thrust into the air from the ocean spray of cresting waves, thus allow normal airflows to disrupt the Hurricane from continuing to form. Larger Hurricanes once formed would be problematic, but perhaps you could deliver them by missile or submarine. But could this be a job for Super Hurricane Hunter? It might have to be done by the air since a large ship could be sunk during a large category Hurricane. Even an aircraft that low would be in danger, even The Hurricane Hunters do not fly that low and aircraft fully loaded dropping a load, well, Ill let you fly it, that could be a suicide mission. Or are these brave military personnel up for the challenge, can we build an aircraft strong enough, it might take many aircraft. Although if not done; many in the path of the Hurricane would die anyway. The object is to cool the ocean temperature in front of the storm. You could use a small oil slick, spread out over a large distance to help, but the environmentalists would sue you, unless you used a substance that would not harm the ocean life.

Halliburton has some new gel, which is put into underground cavities to get the oil out and provide pressure, which is diesel free. Maybe it might work, as it would not hurt the environment. At this point anything that is done is worth trying, as we have seen some Whoppers in the way of Hurricanes. Think on this.
