China's economic prosperity in the future will depend on her ability to get the products that are made from the industrial regions of the nation to her ports for export. China has been working desperately on upgrading her infrastructure to handle the industrial capacity needed to continue the rapid growth. This means more power infrastructure, water infrastructure and transportation infrastructure such as railroads, highways and canals. Without the ability to get the completed products to China's main ports quickly he is possible that China can out produce her ability to move products and distribute. Therefore China has been busy building railroads to the sea and connecting those regions with railroads and highways. China is currently building many new rail lines to various parts of her country to help with the rapid economic expansion. Some of these new rail lines are not talked about in the news until they are completed. China is a huge country with diverse regions. Often there is unofficial information that leaks out about China's railroad expansion such as this article in 2002; http://www.tibet.com/NewsRoom/railway-qinghai.htm Today, we see that this rail line is completed and there are many more in the process, which we will be hearing about in the next couple of years. China is learning much from the United States in the way of economic development and infrastructure building, as well as other industrialized nations. Even better, China is able to learn from our mistakes and he is putting in the rail infrastructure a head of the future rapid growth of her civilization. Perhaps we might all consider this in 2006. |
